North Sumatra Weight Lifting Athletes Focus Core Muscle Exercises




North Sumatra weight lifters focus on doing core muscle training in general preparations ahead of the XX Papua National Sports Week (PON) in October 2021.

He said these core muscle exercises include bench press where athletes lie on their backs on a weight lifting bench, then lift a barbell and hold it tightly shoulder-width apart.

Then, chest curl where, this exercise is basically the same as the bench press even though the position of the arms must be kept straight while stretching outward.

Nanang said that athletes must also do deadlift exercises which are advanced weightlifting and assisted by spotter to do this exercise.

Nanang admitted that until now, the above technical exercises were always carried out by the five weight lifters who passed the PON. "We hope they can excel at the event every four years," he said.
