Ministry of Health Supports Changes in Jayapura Poltekes




The Minister of Health, Terawan Agus Putranto, fully supports the plan to change the Jayapura Health Polytechnic to the Papua Health Institute.

This was said by Minister Terawan when he received the Director of the Jayapura Health Polytechnic, Arwan Hermanus Markus, at his office in Jakarta.

In addition, Terawan also agreed to the proposal to establish a medical faculty and a traditional health faculty if the Papua Institute of Health was formed.

Arwan Hermanus met with Minister Terawan accompanied by a member of Commission IX DPR RI, Mesak Mirin. During the meeting discussed many matters related to health problems in Papua, including the plan to change the Jayapura Health Polytechnic to the Papua Health Institute.

Currently, Jayapura Health Polytechnic has 6 departments and 19 study programs. At the beginning of its establishment, in 1995 this health polytechnic was named the Jayapura Integrated Health Academy.

Terawan said that health problems in Papua need attention because he supports the change of the Jayapura Poltekes into the Papua Health Institute.
