Papuan Students Get Help from Tolikara District Government Rp. 2.7 Billion

The Tolikara District Government provided funds of Rp. 2.7 billion to help Papuan students in 25 study cities, both domestically and abroad.

Tolikara District Head Usman Wanimbo hopes that the assistance provided can be used to make a living during the Covid-19 pandemic.

He conveyed that Tolikara final study students recorded around 800 people, but with the Covid-19 Tolikara Regency Government recorded all students from the first semester to the last semester.

"The data is there while there are 2,0105 students. But this number will still move on, "Usman said in Jayapura City, Friday, June 5, 2020.

At present there is 800 assistance for students who have been channeled through account transfers. But seeing the development of Tolikara student data that continues to grow, Tolikara Regency Government thinks that the assistance can reach Rp. 5 billion.

"We hope that the assistance provided can be used to make a living during the Covid-19 pandemic," Usman said.

The donation of Covid-19 funds was received symbolically by 7 representatives of Tolikara students. One student gets as much as Rp. 2.5 million on the condition of having a student card and bank account.

The Tolikara Male Boarding Board, Yomiron Penggu on the occasion expressed his gratitude for the assistance given by Tolikara District Government.

Yomiron hopes that the new student data given to Tolikara District Government can be distributed immediately. "We hope the rest can be immediately transferred to students throughout Indonesia according to the amount of data," he explained.
