Papua Health Service Receives 25 Thousand Rapid Tests

The Papua Provincial Health Office brought in 25,000 Covid-19 rapid test kits from the Indonesian Ministry of Health. This rapid test tool is to speed up the handling of the corona virus.

"We have brought 25,000 'rapid test' devices and in the near future we will also bring 25,000 from the Ministry of Health so that the target of 50,000 according to the instructions of the Governor of Papua Lukas Enembe can be fulfilled," said Head of Papua Health Office Roby Kayame, Saturday (2/5) .

Now, his side is pushing Jayapura Regency and Jayapura City to train officers to carry out public health checks through rapid test kits.

"We are encouraging several districts in the interior of Papua because the level of risk is high enough there so that the provincial health team is shifting to their mountainous and coastal districts there ready to face Covid-19," he said.

He said he was trying to quickly break the chain of transmission of Covid-19 in the area. "In Timika there are many people without symptoms that we treat and treatment is also early so they don't have to go through a ventilator," he said.

Until now, he added, it was reported that 80 percent of people with Covid-19 in Timika were generally in good condition.
