For Handling Covid-19 Papua Provincial Government Distributes Rp2 Billion Per Regency / City


The Provincial Government of Papua provides cash assistance of Rp2 billion to 27 districts and cities for handling co-19. Specifically for the City and Regency of Jayapura received assistance of Rp. 4 billion.

Papua Deputy Governor Klemen Tinal said the assistance provided was in the form of fresh money transferred to each district and city. "We are not transferring in the form of goods, but cash, the face of Papua is in Jayapura City, so we give Rp4 billion," Klemen said, Monday, April 27, 2020 in Jayapura.

In addition to providing assistance to districts and cities, the Papua Provincial Government also provided assistance of Rp. 5 billion in five co-19 referral hospitals. Klemen emphasized, with the assistance there is no reason not to work optimally.

However, the regents and mayors were asked to be truly responsible for handling this virus outbreak. And coordinate in making policies related to handling co-19.

"We ask all leaders in Papua to be responsible, don't talk too much, but work," he said.

Klemen asked the regents and mayors not to disagree or argue in handling co-19. He emphasized that all regional heads focused on working for the community.

"Today (regents and mayors) show (performance). There is no need to argue, there is no right or wrong, we work for the community, "he said.

He invited all parties to the optimistic element to reduce the co-19 curve in Papua, even though it is currently ranked sixth nationally. But the cure rate showed a significant increase.

"What remains is that, Timika, Jayapura Regency, Jayapura city, Merauke and Nabire, must be really serious, these four regions must be foremost," he said.
