PT Freeport and YPMAK support the prevention of COVID-19 in Mimika

PT Freeport Indonesia (PTFI) and the Amungme and Kamoro Community Empowerment Foundation (YPMAK) fully support the various steps taken by the Mimika Regency Government to prevent, control and tackle the Corona Virus Disease 2019 (COVID-19) outbreak in the region.

As a form of serious support from the two institutions for efforts to control the Corona COVID-19 virus case, on Monday afternoon PTFI and YPMAK handed over aid in the form of goods and cash to the Mimika Regency Government, the Papua Provincial Government and the Central Government in Jakarta.

The assistance was delivered by YPMAK Director Vebian Magal together with PTFI Govert Waramori Community Health Development (CHD) Manager and received by the Acting Secretary of Mimika Marthen Paiding accompanied by Spokesperson of the Task Force Team for the Acceleration of COVID-19 Mimika Regency Reynold Ubra.

Assistance provided in the form of cash worth Rp5 billion to be distributed includes Rp2 billion to Mimika Regency, Rp1.5 billion to Papua Province, and Rp1.5 billion to the Central Government.

Cash assistance for the Mimika Regency Government is channeled through bank accounts of each task force handling COVID-19 in the Mimika region.

In addition to cash assistance, YPMAK also handed over 100 dos of masks, 20 sets of bio hazard APD clothes, 48 ​​units of mist blower spray machines used for spraying disinfectant liquid inside and outside the building, and 39 cartons equivalent to 250 liters of Bayer brand disinfectant liquid.
